লেখক Ahmad ibn Shu‘ayb al-Nasa’i
Ahmad ibn Shu‘ayb al-Nasa’i (d. 915 CE / 303 AH) compiled Sunan al-Nasa’i, considered one of the most reliable collections after Bukhari and Muslim. His work contains about 5,270 hadith, with a strong emphasis on authenticity. Nasa’i was known for his critical eye, often rejecting narrations he deemed weak. His Sunan al-Kubra was a larger collection, from which he later compiled the shorter Sunan al-Sughra (also known as al-Mujtaba), which is part of the Kutub al-Sittah. The collection focuses heavily on jurisprudence, especially matters of worship and ritual. Scholars regard Nasa’i’s work as highly trustworthy, with fewer weak narrations compared to other Sunan. Commentaries like Sharh al-Suyuti explore its depth. His insistence on authenticity made his collection a cornerstone of hadith studies.
